Yesterday we and our friends, Brian & Denise from the Isle of Man, went on a “blanket tour”. For those who have been on package holidays you will know what I mean. It’s actually a free sightseeing coach tour provided by a company that make lambs wool bedding sets. You get a lovely day out, including a complimentary drink of bubbly while you watch a brief, entertaining, low pressure presentation of their products.

I took these butterfly pictures while we waited for the coach.

The first place we visited was the seafront at Puerto de Rosario, the capital of the Island.

After lunch and the brief presentation near Antigua, we drove through the centre of the Island to La Oliva where we visited the Casa de los Coronels, the oldest house.

We then went on to El Cotillo to see the old fort, El Toston, and the lighthouse.Although we didn’t see anything we hadn’t seen before, the commentary was very informative and it was a nice, inexpensive day out!
