This is what Exmoor looked like as we flew over it!

This little cat was waiting for us when we arrived!

This is one of our favourite beaches!

Well, we arrived safely but the flight wasn’t exactly uneventful. We boarded the plane on time, everything was going according to plan, we had fantastic seats in the front row, the pilot said that the winds were with us so we would arrive an hour early, the lights were dimmed for takeoff and then …nothing happened. The pilot announced that the plane had been standing around for a few days and water had got in and affected the controls and he wasn’t allowed to fly it! Well, to cut a long story short, an engineer arrived who cured the problem and we did eventually take off an hour later and arrived spot on the scheduled time, which was good as we had arranged for someone to meet us!
As you can see from the photo, Exmoor was completely covered in snow.
When we arrived it was a bit dull and overcast but at least 20 degrees higher than England!
On Saturday we went out in the ministry and actually got rained off - which is so unusual for a place that is supposed to have hardly any rainfall! We put the windscreen wipers on and one of them had such a shock it flew right off! Now we have got to get a replacement as the car is due for its MOT next month.
We had a bit of a problem with the phone as dust had got in and the buttons were sticking. It was a bit of a challenge to explain the problem to Telefonica but we obviously succeeded because they bought us out a new phone. It’s a very advanced and highly technical phone and the instruction book is all in Spanish - so that’s the next challenge!
The weather is beautiful now, wall to wall sunshine! Yesterday we went to one of our favourite places, the lagoons at el Cotillo. It’s perfect for snorkelling as there are so many varieties of colourful fish. We haven’t been in the pool yet as we are still working on getting it a bit warmer, although we have been in the hot tub everyday! As we bubble away under the stars we are thinking of you all back in England!
We will keep you up to date with all the news, probably on a weekly basis!
